This one is easy-peezy. Go to the blog, check the entries and find the one that says what date our anniversary would have been AND tell how many female attendants were in the wedding party! It only involves a wee bit o'counting, not much, I promise!
Then email your answer to lindsayschallenges@ameritech.net
Good luck!
DEADLINE: July 15th, 2008
PRIZE: TWO SIGNED books by Jodi Piccoult!
Dear Readers,
Just smack me upside the haid, please? I know, I know. Long time no type with you, as my author friend Grace D’Otare says so cleverly. Well, I’ve been in limbo, as some of you know, but I’m climbing my way out, slowly, slowly.
First, go over to the Contest Tab on the web site to see the last winners and to see the new contest.
Now, what’s new? Well, I’m keeping my Blog up to date with the latest news—the Chicago North Spring Fling, what I’m working on, what’s going on with my writing. That sort of stuff. The fun, immediate stuff. I’ve been trying to create some entries about writing for those of you who like to dip into writing tips and, like me, find other writers’ processes interesting, informative, or for those of you who’re just curious.
I’ll also be in San Francisco in July for the National Romance Writers of America Conference. My dear friend and wonderful writer, Hall of Fame member Jennifer Greene and I are doing a panel on “Power.” Sounds fun, huh? It was Jennifer’s idea, and I’m really excited about being in that beautiful city and doing the panel.
I’d love for you to head over the the Blog and post. You might also want to check out the PHOTOS tab since there are a couple of new ones there.
At any rate, come play in my sandbox whenever you feel like it, all right?
But what I want to talk about here is nostalgia. We’re coming up to Memorial Day, and that always seems a special day to me, a day to think about past decisions, about people who’ve come into our lives, stayed, left. A quiet day, in many ways. But also a glorious day.
Glorious because all the blooming plants remind us that all things have their cycles, that spring brings with it so much promise.
So I’ll stick my impatiens and sweet-smelling alyssum into the ground and think of people I love—and know that when the fragrance of the alyssum fills the air in summer that it will remind me of many special moments with people I love.
May your spring and summer be filled with the sweetness of good memories and beautiful flowers.
